CalmTheCash is a free financial calculator tool. This privacy policy explains what data we collect when you use our site and why.

What we collect and why

We use third-party analytics tools to understand how users interact with our calculators. This helps us improve the product — for example, understanding which inputs are most commonly changed, how far users scroll, and where people drop off. We collect:

Usage behaviour — pages visited, time on page, features used (e.g. which calculator tabs are opened, which toggles are used)
Session recordings — anonymised recordings of mouse movements, clicks, and scrolls to help us identify usability issues
Technical data — browser type, device type, screen size, and country-level location (no precise geolocation)
Referral source — how you arrived at the site (e.g. Google search, direct link)

We do not collect names, email addresses, financial data entered into the calculators, or any personally identifiable information. Calculator inputs stay in your browser and are never sent to our servers.

Analytics tools we use

We currently use the following tools:

Cookies

Our analytics tools use cookies to distinguish between sessions and track usage over time. These are analytics cookies only — we do not use advertising or targeting cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.

Data retention

Analytics data is retained according to the default retention policies of each tool (typically 14 months for GA4). Session recordings may be retained for up to 12 months.

Your rights

You can opt out of Google Analytics at any time using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. To opt out of PostHog session recording, you can disable JavaScript or use a content blocker.
